🪦 End of Indoor Season

Indoor Track was a new venture for us this season, and we would like to thank you all for bringing the same enthusiasm to these indoor meets as you’ve done all XC and outdoor track season.

Before we get into Illinois Club Relays and the three new club records, we want to ask all of you, regardless of if you competed in the indoor season, to fill out this anonymous feedback survey. This was a huge experiment for us and your thoughts are extremely valuable to myself, Mr. Gora, and his board in figuring out how to proceed with indoor meets next year.

There are questions both for those who did indoor and those who didn’t so it’s worth your time to fill it out regardless. Thank you!

🌾 Illinois Club Relays

We traveled to Champaign, IL to compete in Illinois Club Relays, which some refer to as “Indoor Club Nationals,” for the first time in club history. After getting over the feeling of being out of place among all the Midwest schools, our team geared up to run relay after relay for the next 8 or so hours, including over 2 hours of the mile!

We placed 5th in the men’s competition and 7th in the women’s - not bad for only bringing 30 people compared to Wisconsin’s 140. Shoutout to Evelyn Tipper for scoring a whopping 0 points in the mile despite coming in 4th place because they scored even the individual events as relays and we only had 3 women running the mile.

Congrats to the following athletes for setting new club records:

  • Matthew Miller, Samuel Yakulis, Wyatt Thomas, Chris Nunn – 4x800m – 7:53.00

  • Evelyn Tipper – Mile – 5:20.31

  • Chris Nunn – 3000m – 8:33.55

And a special shoutout once again to Chris Nunn for setting a new meet record and putting VT on the back of the 2026 Club Relays shirt! Thank you to everyone who came to compete and those who cheered us on from back in Blacksburg!

🕕 Practice Moving to 6pm After Spring Break

Another year passes without Congress deciding if they’re going to get ride of daylight saving time, so yet again, we go through the ritual of moving practice back an hour to enjoy the extra daylight.

🌯 Chipotle Team Dinner (3/4)

Come out to Chipotle on North Main Street after practice this Tuesday to help the club fundraise. We get a percentage of the proceeds and Chipotle is always a really big fundraiser for us so make sure to come out if you’re hungry. Use our flyer at checkout to make sure we get our cut!

🥧 Giving Day Raffle Updates & Pieing the Officers (3/4)

The long-awaited officer pieing will take place tomorrow during practice so don’t be late!! The raffle form will also be sent out soon for individual prizes, so keep an eye on GroupMe!

🥄 Assassin Signup

Our Assassin tradition will begin after Spring Break! Look out for Kevin’s message in the announcements chat – you must react to the message to indicate that you’ll be playing.

If you’re unfamiliar, Assassin is a game we run every semester where everyone is assigned a target to eliminate via plastic spoon. You must take out your target outside of class or practice hours, so some light stalking may be required (don’t do anything stupid!)

You will have a deadline to eliminate your target. If you cannot take out your target, you will be eliminated yourself. The game goes on until only one remains. Will you be the champion?

Have a great week!
